Meet Toni Loyas OTR

In the early 17th century, William Shakespeare wrote a play, Twelfth Night, in which its first lines echoed “If music be the food of love, play on.” These words mean much to an employee of the Lincoln Park Health Care Experience.

Meet Toni Loyas. Several years ago one of her closest friends suffered injuries from a severe car accident. This event inspired Toni to become passionate about rehabilitation therapy and use her passions to reach her patients. Music is Toni’s passion and feels that her passion crosses over into rehab. By understanding her passion for music and the events that transpired several years ago, Toni is able reach out to her patients to find their passions and interest to motivate and aid in their success.

Today, she is the Corporate Rehabilitation Director at Lincoln Park Health Care. Toni is a certified occupational therapist who oversees all rehabilitation departments including Reimbursement, Clinical, and Quality. Toni received her Bachelor of Science from Kean University and has 11 years of professional experience.

While at Lincoln Park Care Center, Toni has noticed that this is not your typical healthcare experience, rather it is a new cutting edge type of healthcare experience that she is proud to be a part of. Her advice to fellow colleagues is to “embrace co-workers and you will be in a strong work environment to grow and retire in.” Play on Toni. Play on.

JERRY & DOLORES TURCO MEDICAL REHAB CENTER OPENS TO RAVE REVIEWS

(Lincoln Park, NJ: July 15, 2009, For Immediate Release) - The Jerry & Dolores Turco Medical Rehab Center in Lincoln Park is now open and accepting patients. After months of anticipation and tours of the building by the professional and local community, the first patients have been admitted.

The facility is currently accepting new admissions as well as pre-booking for future reservations post-surgery. This enables patients to enter their surgery process knowing that arrangements for rehabilitation have already been made.

Jerry and Dolores Turco had a vision many years ago. As leaders in the healthcare and real estate industries, they originally created a facility offering quality long term care services. Eventually, several other health care facilities were added to the campus. The facilities became recognized for their innovative vision and were more recently branded as The Lincoln Park Healthcare Experience.

Mimi Feliciano, the CEO of Lincoln Park Renaissance Rehab and Nursing Center, Lincoln Park Care Center and Lincoln Park Hospice, embodies her parents vision and has taken it upon herself to continue to build on their accomplishments after both her parents passed away. A high energy, high-efficiency individual, Mimi is taking her latest project, the Jerry & Dolores Turco Medical Rehab Center, to new heights in luxury rehabilitation.

Ms. Feliciano states, "We are so excited to be open and accepting patients. We have gone to great lengths to provide rehabilitation in a setting that is like nothing the region has ever seen. Patients will experience rehab as never before in a boutique-style setting with unparalleled concierge service."

The 65,000 sq. ft. JDT Center features 7 day-a-week in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation, offering guests private suites, many with balconies. Patients will receive treatment in a healing and holistic environment which offers traditional and cutting-edge rehab along with acupuncture, acupressure, massage therapy, indoor aquatherapy pool, sauna, spa, beauty salon, chiropractic services and biofeedback. Specialty programs include orthopedic rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Some of the most exciting features of the facility are the Japanese healing meditation garden filled with tropical plants and fragrances to soothe the soul and heal the body, as well as the outdoor English garden terrace which provides an environment created to provide tranquility to patients recovering from an accident, surgery or illness.

The JDT Center will be partnering with referring physicians to provide continuity of care to patients. Private rooms with balconies and pull-out sofa beds for guests can be pre-reserved for post-hospital treatment, easing the stress of last minute placement. Rooms are appointed with flat screen televisions, piped-in oxygen, comfortable chairs and private baths.

Their flagship rehabilitation program is called Rehab Road, an indoor area designed to simulate a real neighborhood community with a car, grocery store, restaurant counter, laundry room and tool workshop, lawn and gardening with outdoor shed, golf putting green, living room with Wii station, full kitchen and private bath.

In addition, Eddie's Place, an education and senior community center, will offer informational seminars to members of the community as well as recreation, social programs and wellness education for seniors.

The Jerry & Dolores Turco Medical Rehab Center is located at 503 Pine Brook Road in Lincoln Park, on the campus of The Lincoln Park Healthcare Experience. For more information or a private tour, or to make a referral, please contact Tere Kirk, Marketing Director at (973) 317-7500, ext. 1172.
