Breakfast With Santa

On December 20th Lincoln Park Renaissance Rehab and Nursing Center held its annual Holiday Breakfast with Santa. Despite the snowy weather, over 30 families arrived to share breakfast with residents, make a Christmas craft and visit with Santa Claus.

The brightly decorated recreation area hosted the breakfast buffet and offered a chance for families from Lincoln Park and surround communities to visit and celebrate the holidays with residents. Parents and children were notified of the event through fliers and announcements at local elementary schools.

Santa Claus posed for photos with the children, listening to their Christmas wishes, and each family received a copy of their photo with Santa in a handmade frame. Christmas tree ornaments were made by the children as well to add to their Christmas decorations at home.
Lincoln Park Renaissance resident Susan Kosa also displayed her handmade beaded jewelry for guests to enjoy and purchase. Sue also crafted while visiting with the children, allowing them to watch as she made bracelets, rings and necklaces, all in Christmas colors and themes.

Many families make the Lincoln Park Renaissance breakfast a yearly Christmas tradition. In fact, the Kassar family often plays Christmas tunes on piano and violin for guests at the event.
Christmas greetings were also shared by Edgar Tetreault, president of the residents’ council at Lincoln Park Renaissance.
